The Distinguished Marksman Ribbon was established by the Secretary of the Navy in about 1952.
EFFECTIVE DATES
The Distinguished Marksman Ribbon was in effect from about 1952 until July 13, 1959.
CRITERIA
The Distinguished Marksman Ribbon was established to replace the Distinguished Marksman and Pistol Shot Ribbon to provide distinctive ribbons for rifle and pistol competitive marksmanship.
ORDER OF PRECEDENCE
The Distinguished Marksman Ribbon was worn after the Distinguished Marksman and Pistol Shot Ribbon and before the Navy Distinguished Pistol Shot Ribbon.
