MARINE CORPS COMBAT INSTRUCTOR RIBBON

                        

ESTABLISHING AUTHORITY

The Marine Corps Combat Instructor Ribbon was established on August 22, 2014, by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus.

EFFECTIVE DATES

The Marine Corps Combat Instructor Ribbon is awarded retroactively to all Marines with qualifying service beginning on or after October 9, 2002.

CRITERIA

The Marine Corps Combat Instructor Ribbon is awarded to Marine Corps personnel who serve in an eligible billet and who complete a 36 month prescribed tour of duty.

ORDER OF PRECEDENCE

The Combat Instructor Ribbon is worn after the Marine Security Guard Ribbon and before the Armed Forces Reserve Ribbon.

DEVICES

Additional awards are denoted by bronze stars three-sixteenths of an inch in diameter. A three-sixteenths inch silver star is worn in lieu of a sixth award.
